MEX Petrol Can

This rare early 2 gallon can is particularly interesting being a lipped top version and featuring the short lived / 'prototype' angled neck, dating to 1910.
Purchased at auction for our own collection as an older restoration it was decided to re-restore it back to its original condition.
The can was paint stripped by hand and found to be very solid and still capable of holding liquid. back to bare metal some of the original terracotta brown paint was found in the seams and used to match the colour ready for repaint.
High build primer followed by a few sprayed coats of the custom mixed original MEX colour. Topped off with the rare Marles patent original cap.
